Planning Your Caribbean Vacation: What to Know Before You Go

Timing, weather, and paperwork all shape a Caribbean trip. Here are the three things we help every traveler sort out before they book.

Best Time to Visit the Caribbean

The best time to visit the Caribbean for most travelers is the dry season, roughly December through April. Weather is warm and sunny, but flights and resorts cost more and fill up early. Late spring and early summer often bring lower prices and fewer crowds. Tell us your dates and we will suggest the islands that fit them.

Hurricane Season

Hurricane season runs from June through November, with the highest risk in late summer and early fall. Many trips go smoothly, but it helps to know the risks before you book. We can steer you toward islands that are less affected, point you to flexible booking options, and explain what travel insurance covers.

Passports and Travel Documents

Most Caribbean islands require a valid passport for U.S. citizens, and some ask that it be valid for six months past your return date. Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are U.S. territories, so travelers from the mainland do not need a passport there. Check your documents early, because passport processing can take weeks.

Popular Caribbean Activities and Excursions

Add island experiences to your trip, from beach days to guided adventures. We can book them with your stay, so everything is arranged before you leave.

What to Know Before You Go

A few practical details worth sorting out before you book.

Visa Requirements, Sorted Out for You

Entry requirements vary by country, some allow visas on arrival, others require an application well in advance. We help you understand exactly what your itinerary requires and when, so there's no last-minute scramble trying to meet a deadline you didn't know existed.

The Right Time to Go, by Country

Peak safari season in East Africa doesn't line up with the best time to visit Egypt or Morocco. If your trip spans more than one country, timing matters more than most people expect, and we build your itinerary with that in mind.

Support for the Details That Matter

From health considerations to what makes sense to pack for a trip that might include desert heat and safari mornings, we're available to talk through the details and point you toward the right resources.
