Top 3 Tips for Traveling to Dubai

Along the Persian Gulf Coast is the city of Dubai, which can be found right within the Arabian Desert. On the outskirts of the city, the landscape is filled with sand, seashells, dunes, and eventually massive mountains. The large desert area means hot humid temperatures for the city throughout the year, although it has been raining there a little more in recent years than it used to.

Here are the top 3 tips for anyone who is planning on travelling to Dubai:

Tips for Traveling to Dubai

1. Save on Attractions

One of the best parts of travelling is visiting all the attractions in an area. However, the admission prices can add up quickly during a vacation and that cost can cause most people to forgo numerous places that they may have wanted to see. In Dubai, people can purchase the Go Dubai Card. This card will allow them to pay one low price and then visit as many attractions as they wish from a list of thirty-eight museums, tours, cruises, and more. Visitors can activate the cards for anywhere from two calendar days to seven calendar days in a two-week period, and they can even choose an additional premium attraction with an activation of a three day or more pass.

2. Visit the Largest Mall in the World

A visit to the Dubai Mall is going to be a lifechanging experience for any traveler, and not only because it is the largest mall in the world. In addition to all the stores that people can shop in, there is an aquarium, ski slopes, cinemas, a kid’s playground, and an ice skating rink. In fact, people can spend days in this mall before they have seen and experienced it all.

3. Transportation

The city is not very pedestrian friendly, so visitors will not want to plan on walking from one destination to another. Everything has been placed far away from everything else, plus as mentioned, it can get extremely hot in Dubai, which makes walking unbearable for any length of time. While taxis are an option, the city also has an easy to use Metro system. However, to see more of the city while going from one place to another, the Hop On/Hop Off Buses might be a better solution. These buses are included with the Go Dubai Cards and they have easy pickup and drop-off locations in multiple locations throughout the city.

It can be a little disconcerting when arriving in a new city at first, but by knowing a few things in advance, everyone can feel at home and relaxed right away. Travelers should always do a little research prior to their trip, so that they have information like this available to them. It will make their vacation much easier and allow them to enjoy their trip without any major incidents or mishaps.

What You Must Know About Budget Airlines

Budget airlines are on every continent, but did you know that these airlines made their debut over in Europe? There are still more budget airlines in that part of the world over anywhere else. Their costs are significantly cheaper than regular airlines in Europe, which is quite different than the small savings you will see in the US or on other continents.

Most budget airlines place bulk orders when they order new airplanes, because that allows them to save a lot of money since they are getting such a steep discount. While these airlines could purchase older planes, they see a bigger savings with the new ones, due to the fuel efficiency and fewer necessary repairs.

All the employees of these budget airlines only need to go through training for the one type of aircraft the company uses. Instead of ordering five of one type of plane, ten of another, and so forth, the company simply orders one kind and uses it for every flight they have. This saves a bunch of time and money.

The flight attendants perform multiple tasks including cleaning the plane and taking tickets at the gate. This means fewer employees are needed to get every job completed.

When you take a budget airline flight, you probably notice that they normally do not fly into the larger airports in Europe. This is due to the higher costs of flying into those areas, so they choose to fly into the cheaper airports that are a little further from your destination. They will fly to regular airports on occasion, but it will be at the least popular times.

All budget airlines have very little downtime in between flights, so they are making more money every day. Time in the air is more profitable than time spent on the ground. Connections are also not usually available with budget airlines, because they do not have the employees to transfer the bags.

Many regular airlines have tried to jump on the budget airline bandwagon but have failed. They simply do not have the number of planes required, or the number of destinations, to make a company like this work.

Over in Europe, Ryanair and EasyJet have smashed the competition with their budget airline model, making it quite difficult for anyone else to break through in that part of the world. Only time will tell if the budget airlines within the US, mainly Allegiant and Frontier, will be as successful one day or if they will fall prey to the budget airline curse.
