The Best Wine Tours in Europe

If you are a wine lover, you are going to want to check out The Real Grape. They are our favorite company to work with when we need to create a fabulous and luxurious wine tours in Europe! The Real Grape prides themselves on offering an immersive luxury wine experience, so expect to meet passionate producers, stay in beautiful accommodation immersed in vineyards, as well as having a tour guide that knows the area like the back of his hand.

One of the tours that The Real Grape has created is a trip to the Marne Department of Champagne, which includes the areas of Reims and Epernay. A good amount of the champagne that is produced in the region comes from this area.

In Reims, you can see a 13th century cathedral and learn a lot about its rich history. While in Epernay, you can visit the famous Avenue de Champagne, which is lined with some of the most famous Champagne houses in the world where visitors can pop in for tastings.

Reims Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church in Reims, France, built in Gothic style. Construction on the church started in 1211.

Another luxury wine tour that The Real Grape hosts is to L’Aube. The main city is Troyes, where you can wander through the spectacular museums and preserved renaissance churches. Many famous people lived in this region including a young Napoleon, Camille Claudel, and Renoir, plus General De Gaulle’s grave can be found there.

The Champagne region of France boasts much more than amazing grapes. Visitors can enjoy beautiful sunset over the rolling hills in Champagne.

Of the two thousand producers in the region, only two hundred and sixty are major producers. Therefore, The Real Grape always include stops at many of the family-run producers that are much smaller and give you much more of a personal experience.

Smaller, family-run  producers are an excellent way for you to understand the producer, the history and their champagne in a more personal way. You certainly won’t be shoved on to a large impersonal tour! The Real Grape prefers to visit producers who focus on sustainability and organic practices, because they provide a completely immersive experience that is full of passion. That experience also does not end when the day is finished. The Real Grape partners with numerous types of accommodations including bed and breakfasts and chateaus, immersed in the vineyards and local area. One of our favorites is the Chateau de Sacy, pictured below.
