When the big night arrived, the group got dressed up in their finest clothes and made their way to the Gershwin Theatre on W 50th St. The familiar billboards and crowds of Times Square made it feel like an extra special theater-going experience. Journey Connected had secured amazing front orchestra seats so its clients could see all the magic up close.

From the first booming note of the overture, the clients were instantly transported back to that beloved land of Oz. The set design was as eye-popping as ever, with soaring dragon sculptures, giant clockwork gears, and the Emerald City shining in the distance. Glinda the Good made her signature bubbly entrance descending from the heavens as the crowd went wild. And Elphaba brought the house down when she belted out the showstopping "Defying Gravity" atop the stage.

The story of how Elphaba and Galinda go from bitter enemies to best friends still resonated deeply, even 20 years later. The group found themselves getting emotional during key scenes, like when Elphaba defiantly declares who she is in "No Good Deed" or when the two leading ladies poignantly sing "For Good" at the end. The lavish costumes, spectacular dancing, and illusions were a feast for the senses, from the flying monkeys to Elphaba levitating across the stage.
